Types of burial
for Vienna, Schwechat, Himberg & Hainburg

We respond to your wishes

It is particularly important to us to organize a funeral that allows the deceased and the bereaved a dignified farewell. We organize a personal type of burial that requires an individual funeral service for the deceased. In our institute there are many ways to bury the deceased. We are happy to advise you on any options and together we will find the most suitable type of funeral for you.

Burial

Burial

The burial usually begins with a ceremony, if desired with musical accompaniment, during which the bereaved can say their goodbyes in peace. There is also the possibility of an eulogy from the pastor or a funeral orator. Then the chosen coffin is lowered into the grave. Finally, the mourners can step forward again, pay their last respects and cover the coffin with a handful of earth.

This form of burial is one of the most classic burials and is traditionally accompanied by a coffin burial in the ground of the cemetery. You can choose between an individual grave or a communal grave. A similar version of this burial is burial in a tomb. The coffin is placed in a reinforced grave, i.e. in the crypt. Families especially want this funeral for their deceased family members.

At Bestattung Hanser you will find an extensive selection of versatile and individual coffins. We will be happy to advise you and together we will find a model with the desired equipment, beautiful design and a suitable price range.

Cremation

Cremation has always been one of the most popular types of burial in Austria. This type of burial is particularly suitable due to the versatile combinations. The corpse is placed in a wooden coffin and cremated in the crematorium. You are free to decide whether you want to hold the funeral service before the cremation on the coffin or after the cremation on the urn. Once the cremation is over, the ashes are buried. Here, too, a decision can be made individually between natural burial, burial in the ground or urn burial. The natural burial takes place under trees or on mountain meadows. An earth burial is usually held in the cemetery, and for urn burial it is placed in an urn wall or in cemetery wall niches.

The funeral can be held with an appropriate address by a pastor or a funeral orator, musical accompaniment and a traditional wreath-laying ceremony.

Urns

Urns

After a cremation there is the possibility to keep the ashes in an urn. Of course, you can take the urn home with you if you wish and do without a burial at the cemetery. Often times this is what grieving people wish to do, to symbolically have the deceased with them even after death. For many, this helps them to deal with their grief. For this you need a permit from the responsible municipality of your place of residence or the MA 40 in Vienna. In addition, taking the urn home with you is a more inexpensive option.

Come for a personal consultation or let us advise you over the phone. We would be happy to assist you in obtaining approval, advise you on different urn models and take care of collecting the deceased. We also carry out basic hygienic care, as well as dressing and coffin, with the greatest care. We will also take care of collecting the ashes from the crematorium and then handing over the urn to you.

Diamond burial

An unique souvenir from Mevisto, forever and ever.

Immortalized in shine – create a valuable memento. A diamond burial allows the bereaved to have a lasting memory of the deceased person. Everlasting moments are captured with an individual sapphire or ruby. This modern type of burial is unique and offers you the opportunity to immortalize a loved one in a personal way.

Either ashes or hair can be transformed into gemstones and thus kept as a shining piece of jewelry. It is also possible to make several gemstones from the same hair or the same ashes. In addition, generation stones can also be made in which all generations are mixed and thus united in one stone for ever. We would be happy to advise you on site about other possible combinations that are offered to you by the diamond burial.

You can choose gemstones from 1 to 50 carats and choose between red, blue and natural tones. Six different cuts are also available, each of which creates a unique brilliance. The production takes about 30 working days. When you receive your diamond, it will be presented in a fine box with a certificate.

Orthodox burial

Orthodox burial

The Christian Orthodox burials usually go hand in hand with an earth burial. Before burial, the deceased are carefully washed, appropriately dressed and placed in the coffin with crossed hands. Finally, an ikon is placed in the crossed hands.

The service usually lasts about 45 minutes and forms the core of the prayer. During the blessing, incense is smoked and the minister reads from the gospel. The prayers of Absolution are also pronounced with the coffin opened. If desired, a choir can accompany the ceremony before the bereaved say their farewells and the closed coffin is carried out.

To say goodbye, a common prayer is said before the deceased is lowered into the coffin. If desired, vocal accompaniment can take place during this time. Usually the grave should face eastward.

Social burial

Social burial

Paying the burial costs of your close relatives is mandatory by law and can often be a financial burden for the bereaved. Especially with customers with low incomes, it is very important to us to make the price aspects as affordable as possible. Together we will find a solution that honors the deceased and is still affordable. In such cases, we offer a social burial that suits our customers with adapted conditions. We take special care to fulfill your wishes in the best possible way and to keep your expenses low.

Transfer

We take over the transfer of the deceased from the place of death to the place of burial and ensure that the transport is carried out with care. Before collecting the deceased, however, a doctor must issue the death certificate. Then we can arrange the transfer. We would be happy to provide you with information about the necessary documents and to answer any questions you may have. Contact us by phone so that we can advise you as soon as possible.
